Dog Blue

"Bertie loved blue.  He had a blue sweater, a blue dog collar, blue shoes, but no blue dog."

Enjoy the color blue!  There are probably a million ways to enjoy the color blue (I'm sure a quick glance at Pinterest would prove that statement true), but we decided to have a "blue dinner."  I made my son spaghetti, added some olive oil and blue food coloring, and tossed it in a blue bowl for him.  Using food coloring we also made blue applesauce and blue milk.  I couldn't think of a way to make the cashews blue, but my son was happy to eat them out of a blue dish!

"So Bertie pretended he had a blue dog."

Have fun with a pretend dog!  I bought a cheap blue dog collar, straightened out a coat hanger into a make-shift leash, and hot-glued the collar to a loop at one end of it.  My son had great fun taking his "dog" on a walk, and since the dog was pretend, it spent most of the time flying!
