"There once was a comfortable village nestled in the mountains. The people who lived there had more than enough to keep themselves content."
Find a way to be generous! A friend of ours just had a baby, so we decided to bring dinner for the family. I took my son to the store and he helped me get groceries and pick out some gifts for the new baby and older brothers.
"The two travelers climbed up on the edge of the well and shouted, 'We are master cooks!
If anyone in this town has a big black pot, we will make the most delicious soup anyone ever tasted!'"

Make some stone soup, of course! I made a campfire out of tissue paper and we set a big soup pot on top. We didn't invite the neighbors this time, but my son helped me chop up vegetables and we had fun throwing them in the pot to see how the soup would turn out. We even threw in a stone just for kicks. After adding some water and cooking the soup on the real stove for a bit, we gave it a sample - not too tasty, but maybe next time we'll follow a real recipe! The fun was in the process, anyway - right?
