"She likes all the things Stewart likes: painting, reading, Oh! And building spiderweb kingdoms."
Make a spiderweb! My son, who's particularly fond of "itsys," loved this activity! We took a ball of yarn and wrapped it back and forth around the living room furniture. We tried to keep the "web" about 12-18 inches off the floor so it was easy for my son to crawl under, but still easy for me to step over. My son had a great time crawling around, trying not to get caught in the web! The second time we made the web (yes, we did this multiple times!) I brought in five chairs from the dining table to the living room and we wrapped the yarn around them instead. This worked much better because the perimeter around the web was still open for easy access to walk across the room.
"Maybe we could talk about the haircut a little bit."
Give a monster a haircut! I took a toilet paper tube and turned it into a monster using construction paper and markers. Then, I cut a bunch of foot-long strands of yarn and taped them to the monster's head for hair. My son, who's just learning to use scissors, loved getting to give the monster a trim!
