Pinkies up! Have a tea party and have fun being "proper!" I got out a few pieces from my grandmother's coffee set and laid out an imaginary picnic for my son and I. We talked about how to be gentle with the cups and saucers and had a great time being fancy!
"Now Mr. Tiger felt free to be himself."
Let Mr. Tiger get comfortable wearing what he wants to wear! I made a "paper doll" Mr. Tiger out of card stock and put some self-adhesive magnet strips on the back of him. Then I made a few clothing options out of more card stock and put some magnet strips on the back of those as well. I laid everything out on a metal baking sheet at first, but over the course of the week my son moved him around the different kitchen appliances as well. As soon as he saw Mr. Tiger, he immediately went to work getting him dressed and re-dressed! Of course he also ran around the living room holding him saying, "He doesn't haven't any clothes on!"
