Not a Box

"Why are you sitting in a box?"

Have some cardboard box fun!  If you're anything like our family, there are always some empty diaper boxes laying around.  We've turned these boxes into so many different things including cars, ovens, and drums - but this book inspired us to turn one into a rocket ship!  I wrapped the outside in tin foil and taped some colored tissue paper on the back.  My son used markers to draw buttons and gauges and what-nots, and then he took off for the moon!

"It's not a box."

What can you imagine?  I drew four rectangles on a white sheet of card stock and then gave the paper to my son.  I told him he could turn the boxes into anything he could imagine.  We sat down to color together, and I turned one box into an apple to help get him started.  He made one box into a "bad itsy (spider) that flies."  The other boxes became a cucumber and a coyote.  The possibilities are endless!
