Sunflower House

"All frilly yellow, big and bright - mammoth is the word all right."

Make some mammoth sunflowers!  We decided to make a painting Georgia O'Keefe style - really up close and zoomed in.  We focused on painting the center part of the sunflower, with the majority of the petals "falling off" the page.  After the paint had dried, my son glued some sunflower seeds on to add a little texture!

"Their petals open wide and spread a golden roof above my head."

Enjoy sunflowers!  We have a ton of sunflowers blooming in our yard tight now, but you could also buy some from the store, or make some from paper, or pretend with dandelions even!  I got a few glasses and vases out for my son and he spent the morning arranging the sunflowers with other flowers from the yard.  They're simple flowers, but their warm yellow tones are so beautiful to look at!
